North Carolina State University at Raleigh is a public



Commonly known as NC State, NCSU, or simply "State" inside of North Carolina, the university is part of the University of North Carolina system and is a land, sea, and space grant institution. The university forms one of the corners of the Research Triangle in addition to Duke University in Durham and The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

The North Carolina General Assembly founded the North Carolina College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts, now NC State, on March 7, 1887, as a land-grant college. Today, NC State has an enrollment of more than 33,000 students, making it the largest university in North Carolina. While NC State has historical strengths in agriculture, life sciences, design, engineering and textiles, it offers 115 bachelor's degrees. The university is nationally acclaimed for its academic prestige and commitment to student development. The Center for Student Leadership, Ethics, & Public Service is the university's premiere center dedicated to developing cultured students. College of Agriculture & Life Sciences

Poole College of Management
NC State’s Poole College of Management emphasizes innovation management and the commercialization of technology. College of Natural Resources
The College of Natural Resources (CNR) is a world leader in the use and conservation of renewable resources and recognized by many as a leading educator and researcher in forestry, environmental sciences, wood, paper, pulp, parks, recreation, and tourism. College of Physical & Mathematical Sciences
The College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences includes a number of highly ranked departments that prepare students in the physical sciences and mathematical fields so critical to today’s multidisciplinary world of science. Innovation underpins its instructional methods and has led to many discoveries that improve the human condition and fuel economic growth.

College of Textiles
The College of Textiles is the world’s leading program for textile education. Areas of study range from traditional manufacturing to medical textiles, nonwovens, and marketing and supply chain management.

College of Veterinary Medicine
The College of Veterinary Medicine is among the top 5 teaching facilities of its kind in the nation. Through comprehensive classroom instruction, outstanding laboratory facilities and a veterinary teaching hospital, the college provides state-of-the-art medical care while training veterinarians and researchers in the latest technologies and practices.

First-Year College
First-Year College provides incoming students with intense academic and career advising, accompanied by guided exploration of their various academic options. After completing this program, students are able to make careful but confident decisions about their college years, including their intended majors and future career plans.

The Graduate School
The Graduate School is at the heart of the university’s vast research community. It offers programs in more than 100 areas, plus numerous minors, certificate programs and interdisciplinary options.
